Linear

Connect Linear to Proliferate.

Linear is one of the integrations Proliferate ships pre-registered. Connect your account once and every agent session you run gets tools for looking up issues, projects, cycles, and team state, straight from Linear.

What agents can do with it

Once connected, an agent can pull live Linear context into its work: check the status of an issue you mention, look up which cycle a project is in, or confirm who owns a team before assigning follow-up work. Proliferate proxies these calls to Linear's own hosted tools, so the exact list of what's available comes from Linear, not from Proliferate.

Connect Linear

Open Integrations in Settings

Linear authenticates with OAuth, so there's no API key to create or paste.

Click Connect on the Linear row

Proliferate opens your browser to Linear's sign-in and authorization page.

Sign in and approve access

Approve the request in your browser, then return to the desktop app. The Linear row updates from Not connected to Ready once the connection completes.

Good to know

  • The connection is personal to your account. Teammates who want Proliferate to see their own Linear context need to connect their own account.
  • If Linear later reports your session as expired, the row flips to Reconnect required and a small chip appears in the chat composer so you can fix it without hunting through Settings.
  • An organization admin can turn Linear off for your whole org. If they do, the row shows Disabled by org and connecting is not available until they turn it back on.

See Adding an integration for the full connect and disconnect flow, and Pre-registered integrations for the rest of what Proliferate ships out of the box.
